PAIR OF FURNITURE PANELS JAPAN - CIRCA 1900 Carved wood in bas-relief, one with a raptor in the clouds, its eye inlaid with bone; the second with a goose taking refuge under a pine tree, signed BIKADO "pavillon de beauté". 70 x 43 cm. PROVENANCE. Sale June 6, 1914, Hôtel Drouot, lots no. 403 and 407. Former furniture of François-Émile Morin, director of Le Bon Marché, who built the Japanese-inspired Hôtel particulier La Pagode on rue de Babylone for his wife at the end of the 19th century.
