ALEXANDRE FERDINAND HOCHARD (NÉ À PARIS EN 1826) PAIR OF BALUSTRA VASES ON PEDESTAL Cast iron, the body gadrooned, the straight scrolled handles underlined by an acanthus leaf, the base and neck adorned with a frieze of pearls, on a square base. Late 19th century. Height. 43 cm; Width. 45 cm; Depth. 34 cm. The design of this vase was created by the ornamentalist and foundryman Ferdinand Hochard, whose models were purchased by the consortium Le Comptoir Français d'Art, created in 1889.
