ROBINEAU & FILS (1851-1905) À PARIS JETON PUBLICITAIRE Cuivre, bearing the obverse inscription "Robineau Fils - 129 rue de Turenne - Paris - Jetons-compteurs - Jetons pour Jeux, Cercle, Sociétés - Ludere qui nescit tempus male collocat aleum, (A gambler who does not know time misplaces his bet)", and, on the reverse, a representation of Mercury carrying a woman in a drape. Napoleon III period. Diameter: 2.5 cm Wear and tear. Originally a religious jewelry manufacturer, Robineau Sorin Frères diversified into medal-making. From 1852 to 1860, the workshop was located at 101, rue Saint-Louis in Paris, before moving to 129, rue Turenne.
