OFFICER'S SWORD Brass hilt, chased and gilded, keyboard decorated in bas-relief with an antique battle scene, eagle-headed quillon, single-branch guard adorned with palmettes, pommel featuring a bust of the god Mars, blade blued and gilded one-third; leather scabbard with two gilded brass fittings. 19th century. Total length without scabbard: 92 cm. Wear, mother-of-pearl plates missing.
