EXPOSITION UNIVERSELLE, PARIS, 1878 D'APRÈS EUGÈNE-ANDRÉ OUDINÉ (1810-1887), GRAVÉ PAR JULES CLÉMENT CHAPLAIN (1839-1909) LEAD CIRCULAR MEDAL, using the design of the reverse of the award medals presented at the 1878 Exposition Universelle: A Renommée, flanked by a winged genie lifting a cartouche in which appears the name of the recipient of the award. The two figures fly over the Exposition site, represented on either side of the Seine by the Champ-de-Mars and Trocadéro palaces, both built for the event. It bears the inscription "Exposition Universelle Paris 1878". Diameter. 30 cm. Wear and cracks
