FERDINAND SIGISMOND BAC (1859-1952) Letter pastiche and caricature of comedian Albert Lambert Ink and watercolor on paper, dry-stamped with the monogram "AL" in the upper left corner. Framed, label of the framer Dosbourg, 3 rue Houdon, place Pigalle, Paris. 31 x 47 cm. Albert Lambert (1865-1941) was a member of the Comédie-Française from 1891 to 1935. The "Claretie" quoted in the letter and caption of the cartoon is probably the drama critic, historian and chronicler of Parisian life Jules Claretie (1840-1913).
